EDITOR'S EYE

Dear Social Work Colleagues,

So much has happened since the last time this newsletter was sent out. All of our lives have changed in some way, as a result of last week’s terrorist attacks. It remains to be seen how all of this will affect our lives and those of the clients social workers serve. I send my heartfelt best wishes to all who have been affected both personally and professionally.

A couple of days ago, "Jaybee," a regular user of our Web site’s message board (http://www.socialworker.com/discus) posted a message about the need to process the attacks with clients, and to also process our own reactions as social workers and as human beings who are affected both personally and professionally. He suggested that we all put into action our own "stress management" plans. This was a wise post, and one that will serve us all well!

As I reported in the last newsletter, we had been experiencing some technical difficulties with our newsletter mailing list and had to move to a different server. I have now moved the newsletter to yet another server, and things seem to be working well now. If you subscribed to this newsletter prior to last week, the subscribe/unsubscribe information has changed. See the bottom of this newsletter, or go to http://www.socialworker.com and you will find a subscribe/unsubscribe form on that page.

The content of this newsletter continues to evolve and develop. If you have material to contribute, or if you have ideas or suggestions, please let me know!

Until next time,

Linda Grobman, ACSW, LSW
